Lawn areas are not just a feast for the eyes, a playground or a place to rest. As infiltration and evaporation areas, they help to make better use of water in times of climate change. The soil is also home to many insects and microorganisms, which are an important component of biodiversity. If green spaces are "drained" when water is scarce, this benefit disappears.
