The GARDENA AquaReserve Rainwater tanks collect rainwater and can be converted into an automatic irrigation station as required.
Water is essential for humans, animals and plants. Without sufficient water, neither plants in beds thrive nor do hedges grow. The most convenient but often more expensive source of water is tap water. Rainwater is a cost effective alternative for garden irrigation. It is often softer than the water from the tap and therefore more tolerable for the plants. However, using rainwater for irrigation is often accompanied by lugging heavy watering cans and tedious manual watering irrigation. The AquaReserve Rainwater Tanks facilitate the collection of rainwater with well thought-out functions and enable automated irrigation in the top expansion stage of the system.
The basic model: collecting and storing rainwater
The basis of the GARDENA AquaReserve system is the rainwater tank in an elegant design, available with a capacity of 300 or 400 liters. The wave-shaped structure gives the rainwater storage tank stability and steadiness. With the lid, the rainwater tank is closed and wind resistant. The highlight: The shape of the lid can be changed. If you press on the flexible lid, it curves inwards and allows rainwater to drain directly into the water reservoir. The water can be inflowed via a downpipe. Thanks to the large outflow of the tap, watering cans are filled quickly and easily.
The additionally available AquaReserve filter catches dirt particles and leaves, so they do not get into the rainwater tank. Garden owners can supplement the AquaReserve tank with other accessories and make watering with rainwater even more convenient.
The extension: with pump and accessories to a clever irrigation station
By integrating a pump into the rainwater tank, the collected rainwater can be reused more easily. The connection from the pump to the tap is located inside the rainwater tank. The pump and tap are simply connected via the additionally available GARDENA AquaReserve Connection Set. Either the GARDENA Rainwater Tank Pump 4700/2 inox automatic or the AquaReserve Battery Pump 2400 Automatic 18V can then be connected. This allows additional watering aids to be used for watering: hoses and sprayers or small sprinklers can be easily connected to the rainwater storage tank.
The separately available device for storing a ten-metre-long GARDENA Liano hose within easy reach, which can be clicked into place at the top edge of the rainwater storage tank without tools.
The intelligent expansion stage: automating irrigation
The rainwater tank can be transformed into an automatic irrigation system with a pump in combination with the optional new GARDENA AquaReserve DuoTap Automatic: DuoTap Automatic is a tap with two outlets and integrated irrigation control.
The upper outlet is intended for filling watering cans or for connecting a mobile irrigation device. The lower one is used for automatic irrigation: For example, the GARDENA Micro-Drip-System can be connected there for precise drip irrigation. This means that the collected rainwater goes directly to where the plants can best absorb it – directly at the root. Drop by drop.
With the DuoTap Automatic, irrigation can be programmed and timed. Garden owners can choose from a total of fourteen preset irrigation programs. These regulate the duration and intervals of the desired irrigation. At the touch of a button, the start of watering can be postponed, for example to early morning, when the plants can absorb the water best. A child lock prevents unintentional adjustment of the settings. Additionally, the control can be combined with a soil moisture sensor: if the soil is sufficiently moist, the upcoming irrigation is suspended and unnecessary watering is avoided.
